Abstract

Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is animportant part of solar photovoltaic (PV) system. It increases the efficiency of a solar panel by tracking the maximum power point. There are several MPPT control algorithms in use. In this paper, four control algorithms are analyzed comparatively [1]. Using MATLAB/Simulink a solar PV system with MPPT controlled buck-boost dc-dc converter is modeled. Then the efficiency of each algorithm is calculated using typical daily insulation and temperature variation. Finally, a comparative analysis of the algorithms is presented.
